Armed Forces Day is about honoring our brave American soldiers who sacrifice so much to keep us safe. Here are four ideas for how you can thank them for their heroism!

_____

Help Them Get Hired
Hire Heroes USA helps veterans find employment by offering transition workshops, personalized self-marketing training, and a database of veteran-friendly companies. The national nonprofit’s current success rate is 100 veteran hires per week! Let this organization know about opportunities at your company via the Hire Heroes USA Job Board, or volunteer to assist with mock interviews and career counseling — all of which you can do remotely.

Wear Your Support
Our newly redesigned Armed Forces Collection honors the military heroes who selflessly protect us. Choose from colorful charms representing the U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps, on bangles available in Shiny Gold or Shiny Silver Finishes. Add a Star of Strength Charm Bangle and a Brave Charm Bangle to complete your stack — or give all three as a gift.

Send Care Packages
Operation Gratitude lifts spirits by sending more than 200,000 care packages every year to veterans, first responders, new recruits, wounded heroes, and their caregivers, filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation. Since debuting in 2003, the organization has shipped more than 1.6 million care packages. You can donate money, request a care package to be sent to a serviceperson you know, or join the letter writing campaign.

Remember the Families

Military families sacrifice, too: They worry for their loved one’s safety and must carry on while they’re on deployment. Brighten their day by donating old military uniforms you may have (check Grandpa’s attic) to Military Apparel Companies. The company turns uniforms into meaningful creations — from wallets to dog collars and totes to teddy bears — which families can proudly keep close to remind them of their loved one each day.
