The moon exerts a physical and emotional force over everything in its view. Here’s how to best harness that power to achieve your goals.
______
Did you know that we are about to see a record-breaking supermoon – the biggest in nearly 70 years? The supermoon will happen on the eve of November 14 and the moon will appear up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter than an average full moon. It is going to be a magical moment so you really don’t want to miss this one!
It inspires songs and legends, illuminates the night sky, and rules the Earth’s oceans with its powerful gravitational force. But as the moon cycles through its eight lunar phases, it can also influence your goals and ambitions. Here’s how to harness this unique lunar power to achieve success in all aspects of your life.
New moon: Set goals
When the moon is positioned directly between the Earth and the sun, the sun illuminates the side of the moon that is not visible to us. This is the new moon, a dark phase that provides a blank slate to begin new projects. Become your own luminary and set a leadership role for others through volunteer work or by adding vibrant, colorful bangles to your charmed arm.
Crescent moon: Make plans
As the sun begins to light the visible surface of the moon on the right side, the moon hits its iconic crescent phase. This graceful shape is featured in our Moon Pull Chain Necklace, Moon Post Earrings, and Moon Expandable Wire Ring. During the waxing (growing) crescent moon, use your inner light to research and create an action plan for the goals you set during the new moon.
First quarter moon: Take action
At the first quarter, the moon is at a 90-degree angle from the Earth and the sun. Although the name suggests only a quarter of the moon would be visible, you’ll see half of the moon’s visible surface during this time. As the moon grows larger in this phase, ramp up your efforts and follow the action plan you set during the crescent phase.
Gibbous moon: Engage others
The moon is nearly full during gibbous moon, so it’s time to make a huge push to reach the finish line. If you’re working on a creative project, share it with friends for feedback. Lean on your support system to help keep you accountable. There’s enough light during gibbous moon to help others shine, so make efforts to lift up those around you as well.
Full moon: Stay calm and focused
The full moon occurs when the Earth, moon, and sun are in alignment — and the sun illuminates the entire half of the moon that we can see. Lunar energies and emotions reach a peak during this phase, so take a step back from your project and find an activity that centers you. Creativity also peaks during full moon, so channel positive energy through creative pursuits.
Disseminating moon: Pause and reflect
The lighted surface diminishes during the disseminating — or waning gibbous —phase, creating an environment for introspection. As emotions settle after full moon, you’ll be able to see the progress you’ve made toward your goal, as well as any outstanding obstacles in your way. Reflect on what you hold most dear in your past, present, and future with a Jet Galactic Precious Threads Bracelet.
Third quarter moon: Take stock
During the third and last quarter, once again we see a lunar half-circle. Assess the commitments and relationships in your life that deserve your limited light, and the ones that are holding you back. Take this inventory into the final lunar phase.
Balsamic moon: Shed negative energy
Balsamic moon — otherwise known as waning crescent moon — is the time to release any negative commitments and relationships, and celebrate your progress. Try to wrap up any short-term projects during balsamic moon, and get ready for a clean slate when the lunar cycle begins anew.
